he aguaje is a palm tree native to the Amazon that has potential as a source of vitamin A due to its high content of beta-carotene.
The oil from the aguaje fruit contains phytoestrogens that improve female beauty, climacteric symptoms, and have an anticancer effect. Betacarotene used in hypovitaminosis A, has excellent antioxidant properties, prevents cell aging, inhibits the growth of cancer cells, prevents heart disease, and stimulates the immune system. The high content of monounsaturated fatty acids favors the increase of good cholesterol (HDL) and reduces the bad (LDL). Alpha-tocopherol (Vit.E) regulates sexual characteristics, fortifies the skin and also acts as an antioxidant, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides.
